STEP UP SAVANNAH NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

I was accepted into the Fall Class of Savannah's Neighborhood Leadership Academy via the Step-Up Organization. Why did I apply? I already possess leadership skills, but I want to enhance those skills and believe that this organization can assist me in becoming a better leader for and in my community. #thereisalwaysroomforgrowth

AGAINST THE WIDENING OF BAY STREET

I AM AGAINST THE WIDENING OF BAY STREET, BECAUSE THE UNDERLYING MOTIVE IS NOT TO  BENEFIT THE COMMUNITY, BUT INDUSTRY THAT IS NOT BRING JOBS TO SAVANNAH AND ALLOWING THROUGHFARE FOR TRACTOR TRAILERS AND TRUCKS TO GET TO THE CITY. MY ADVICE: GO AROUND!!!!

VICTORIAN DISTRICT FORUM...PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR!

LOOK FOR ME...I WAS THERE. IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE, SAVANNAH,...IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE!!! WE CAN NO LONGER SIT BACK AND ALLOW CITY HALL TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF US! THEY WASTE OUR MONEY AND INSULT OUR INTELLIGENCE. THEY DO NOT THROUGHLY INVESTIGATE ISSUES BEFORE DECISIONS ARE MADE AND IT IS REFLECTED IN THE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS THAT HAS BEEN WASTED.
IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE, SAVANNAH, IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGE!
VOTE TONIA MILLER...1ST DISTRICT ALDERMAN.

AGAINST LNG TRANSPORT THROUGHOUT SAVANNAH

I AM AGAINST SOUTHERN LNG BEING ABLE TO TRANSPORT LIQUID NATURAL GAS THROUGH OUR CITY. IT IS TOO GREAT OF A RISK TO OUR RESIDENTS AND OUR CITY. http://savannahnow.com/news/2011-09-23/fight-lng-council-told

I'M SOOOO GLAD YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION

EITHER YOU WILL BE A PART OF THE PROBLEM OR PART OF THE SOLUTION.

PEOPLE MUST REALIZE THAT IN ORDER FOR CHANGE TO HAPPEN, WE MUST ALL GET INVOLVED. WISHING AND INTENTIONS ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH....ACTION AND EFFORT MUST TAKE PLACE. THERE IS NEVER A TIME TO GET COMFORTABLE, WHEN THERE IS WORK TO DO. THOSE WHO WANT TO FIGHT THE "GOOD" FIGHT...GET INTO POSTION. OTHERS, IT'S TIME TO MAKE YOUR VOTES AND YOUR VOICE MATTER!

WE ALL BELIEVE THAT CHANGE CAN HAPPEN, BUT "FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD." IF WE DO NOT CHALLENGE THE WAY THINGS ARE, THINGS WILL REMAIN THE SAME. TIME TO GO TO WORK!!

PEACE & BLESSINGS TO THE WORLD.

NOW RUN AND TELL THAT!!!!!

FOCUSED ON PROGRESS AND NOT FOOLISHNESS

Last time I checked, this is not a popularity contest, nor a high school superlative. The citizens of Savannah are being asked to vote for representatives of their District to represent them and address their issues and concerns at City Hall. It is the responsibility of the citizens of each District to assess their community conditions and decide whether their present representation has been an asset or a detriment to their current community conditions. Have the issues that have been presented listened to and some form of action taken?

Those who are elected in any office are to serve all persons within the area that they are voted to serve. ALL MEANS ALL! The 1st District is a NEGLECTED, DIVIDED, and DYING District! Aldermanic voters vote for their entire district; not just their neighborhoods. So, it is important to take a look throughout the District. Many businesses and residential areas have been PACIFIED and NOT SATISFIED. This feeling is expressed across the District, especially in the areas that are of low income and deprived of necessary community services, that would cause those neighborhoods to thrive.

WE ALL HAVE NEEDS! But, how can one expect the District to work together (BUSINESS AND RESIDENTIAL) for CHANGE FOR EVERYONE, if no one is willing to have intelligent, logical, and respectable conversations to network or converse about issues that concern us? Is this not representative of what is exactly occurring in City Hall now? I am focused on PROGRESS and not FOOLISHNESS! Less TALK more ACTION! That's Me!

You want change? Vote! Voting is a RIGHT, a RESPONSIBILITY, and an INVESTMENT! Have you received a return on your investment? Have you received the services that you feel are due for your tax dollars?

If you have, then, keep your current representative. If not, vote for change. Change that represents the direction and the vision that you see for your community. This is a vote based on who you feel will do the best job to represent you and the ENTIRE district. No one can MAKE you vote for anyone...the choice is YOURS.
